BACK Fo RiZZle!!
Okay so it has been a while since I last blogged it up but I am back and back with a vengeance. About two weeks ago, I signed up for Match.com and it is the bomb dot com. There are a lot of decent looking, seemingly cool chicks 20 something chicks. It’s legit. In two weeks, I have put together a pipeline of 10-15 chicks. I’ve been out with two, and have at least 2-3 more lined up ready to go out in the next week. And I already have a second date too. Sweetness!
So let’s play catch up. I went out on my first date in months this past Wednesday. It went surprisingly well considered we traded a few bullshit emails, no IM talk, and a just ok phone conversation, and to top it off it was a weekday date. Here-to-forth, we will refer to her as the half asian chick because she is half asian. As I am sure you all know, racial mutts usually have a pretty exotic look, and look pretty attractive. This broad generalization applied here. In fact, she looked better than her pictures.
Anyways, she has spent sometime abroad so she is pretty cultured yet down to earth. She is pre-school teacher working on a masters in special ed. All good stuff. It turned out to be a rainy day so I figured there was a chance she might cancel. High maintenance chicks are afraid to get wet. This chick was on the ball and got there early. She was even killing time in one of my favorite Union Square hot spots, Barnes & Noble. When I arrived we headed over to the Coffee Shop for drinks. She ordered beer which was pretty cool as most chicks are all concerned about calories or the taste of alcohol so the usually get shitty liquor cocktails but not this one.
We bullshitted about this and that, and in general the conversation was pretty good and flowed well. None of that awkward pause shit that was present on the just okay phone call we had. She was a pretty petite chick and put down 2 pints of Yuingling pretty quick. We talked a lot about her experience out in Asia, so I figured why not take her out to Republic Noodles. It was the perfect choice, and she was totally into it. They churn out the food pretty quick there so we ended up staying and talking for a long time after.
Ending a date is always a little awkward when it’s enjoyable but it wasn’t so bad this time. I followed up with her today and we will be going out again this week so I am pretty stoked. This was far from what I expected going into my first date in months, and first date on this site. Hopefully, I didn’t set the bar too high. My Friday date certainly didn’t make the cut. That’s for sure.
I was a little wary going to into this one. Her pictures indicated she short, and possibly round. Naturally her pictures were all ones that made her look thinner than she was. We had two phone calls. The first one was pretty good. We actually had some stuff in common like playing the trumpet in high school, and our extra curricular activities in college J. The cooler was she likes mainstream Z100 music. On the second call I started getting wary, and she talked a lot but about nothing. She was born and raised in BK so she was sporting a thick NY accent which I didn’t dig too much. She said the “romantical.” Is that even a word?
I met this one in Union Square too. It’s a good jump off point to a ton of restaurants and bars in the East Village. Pretty much as soon I as I walked up I wanted to leave. I am too nice though, and decided to stick it out. Some chicks start to seem more appealing when you have a few drinks too but not this time. She was definitely bigger than her pics let on. But I have experience with this and wasn’t surprised. In fact I expected it. I guess all the dates can’t all be peachy like the last. Most are not going to be.
I took the chick to the Belmont Lounge. It was definitely awkward because I was not into it and she could probably feel it. After the first beer, I told her I needed to go meet some friends after another beer or two. Luckily the Mets-Yankees game was on so I kept entertained while we bullshitted about stuff I couldn’t care less about. After the second beer, I suggested getting a quick bite. She declined pizza but agreed to taco. We walked around the corner to Paquitos. Naturally, I got a fish taco, and she got a beef taco… gross! While we were waiting for food she was playing with a mangy cat that was in the shop, and didn’t wash her hands. Strike three your out! After that I parted ways with her happily. She was a nice girl but I definitely give her a thumbs down. She will never be hearing from me again…
So that’s it for this week. Stay tuned for more…
